Use this guide to review your time, add or change entries, reuse favorites, and submit a timesheet from a phone or tablet.

Open Time #

Browse to MindSalt Mobile Time. Tap Time at the bottom of the screen.

Track time on mobile #

The Time section shows your entries for a selected day and totals for the current timesheet period. Use it to move between dates, review entry status, add time, and open the period summary.

Notice: Time appears only when time tracking is enabled and you have time-entry permission.

View time for a day #

  1. Tap Time.
  2. Tap a date in the week strip to view that day.
  3. Tap a time entry to open its details.

Each entry shows the project or time-off selection, hours, any assigned task, and icons for comments or status. Your organization may use different names for clients, projects, tasks, time off, or hours.

Move to another date #

  • Tap a day in the week strip.
  • Tap the left or right week arrow.
  • Swipe the entry area left or right to move one day.
  • Swipe the week strip to move by week.
  • Tap the period label at the top, choose a date in the calendar, or tap Today.

Open the timesheet period summary #

Tap the hours badge in the upper-right corner. The Timesheet period sheet shows:

  • the period date range,
  • total hours,
  • unsubmitted hours if the period contains time that has not been submitted,
  • each day's hours,
  • and Submit Timesheet when timesheet approvals are enabled.

Tap a day in the summary to close the sheet and open that date.

Understand time-entry status #

  • Submitted entries have been sent for approval and cannot be edited.
  • Approved entries have been approved and cannot be edited.
  • Rejected entries were rejected. They can usually be corrected and resubmitted unless the date is locked.
  • Locked entries or days cannot be changed.

When a day is locked, submitted, or approved, the + button is not available for that day.

Add, edit, copy, or delete a time entry #

Use a time entry to record project work or time off. You can update or remove an editable entry, and copy a saved entry when Copy appears.

Notice: Available selections, labels, time-off access, hour increments, and date locks are controlled by your account.

Check time-entry requirements #

Make sure the required project, task, or time-off option is available. If an expected option is missing, contact your MindSalt administrator.

Add a time entry #

  1. Tap Time.
  2. Select the date for the entry.
  3. Tap +.
  4. If a floating menu opens, tap Add new time entry.
  5. Under What are you adding?, choose project time or time off. The time-off choice appears only when it is available to you.
  6. For project time, select the required project and task.
  7. For time off, select the required time-off category.
  8. Enter the hours.
  9. Add a comment when the entry needs one.
  10. Tap Save Time Entry.

MindSalt rounds the hours to the increment configured for your account and shows the saved entry on the selected date.

Edit a time entry #

  1. Open Time and select the date.
  2. Tap the entry.
  3. Change the date, project or time-off choice, task, hours, or comment.
  4. Tap Save Time Entry.

Submitted, approved, and locked entries open as read-only. A rejected entry is normally editable unless its date is also locked.

Copy a time entry #

  1. Open the saved entry.
  2. Tap Copy.
  3. On Copy Time Entry, tap Date and choose the target date.
  4. Change any other fields you need.
  5. Tap Save Time Entry.

The copy becomes a separate time entry. The target date must still pass the account's date and time-entry rules.

Delete a time entry #

  1. Open an editable saved entry.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. Confirm Delete this time entry?

Warning: Deleting removes the saved entry. The Delete action is not available for read-only entries.

Leave without saving #

If you close a form after changing it, MindSalt asks Discard changes? Choose Keep Editing to return to the form or Discard to leave without saving.

Use time-entry favorites #

Favorites save the selections, hours, and optional comment from a time entry so you can add the same kind of time more quickly on another day.

Notice: You can save up to 50 time-entry favorites. A favorite can be created from an existing saved time entry when Add to favorites appears.

Add an entry to favorites #

  1. Open a saved time entry.
  2. Tap the more-actions button.
  3. Tap Add to favorites.
  4. Enter a name for the favorite.
  5. Confirm the prompt.

The favorite saves the entry's project or time-off selection, task, hours, and comment.

Quick-add a favorite #

  1. On the Time screen, select the date where you want the entry.
  2. Tap +.
  3. Tap Add from favorites.
  4. Tap a favorite.

MindSalt adds the saved values to the selected date immediately.

Important: Quick-add uses the favorite as it is currently saved. If the related project, task, or time-off option is no longer available, MindSalt marks the favorite unavailable and does not add the entry.

Rename or delete favorites #

  1. Open a saved time entry.
  2. Tap the more-actions button.
  3. Tap Manage favorites.
  4. Tap Rename or Delete beside a favorite.
  5. Follow the prompt and confirm the change.

Deleting a favorite does not delete time entries that were already added from it.

Submit a timesheet on mobile #

Submit open or rejected time entries for the current timesheet period so they can move through your organization's approval process.

Notice: Submit Timesheet appears only when timesheet approvals are enabled. Submission rules and any final questions are configured by your account.

Review the timesheet before submitting #

  • Review the period and make sure the entries are complete.
  • Correct any rejected entries that should be resubmitted.
  • Check the unsubmitted hours shown in the period summary.

Submit the timesheet #

  1. Tap Time.
  2. Tap the hours badge in the upper-right corner.
  3. Review the Timesheet period dates and hours.
  4. Tap Submit Timesheet.
  5. Review the confirmation, including the period and hours to submit.
  6. Confirm the submission.
  7. If Almost done opens, answer the displayed questions.
  8. Tap Submit.

Some accounts ask questions before the final submission. Questions can include choices, checkboxes, short text, longer text, and conditionally displayed follow-up questions. Required questions must be completed before submission.

What happens next #

MindSalt displays Timesheet submitted. Submitted entries become read-only while they await approval.

If an approver rejects the timesheet, the affected entries show as rejected. They can normally be corrected and submitted again unless the date is locked.

Important: MindSalt Mobile does not provide a cancel-submission action. Review the entries before you submit them.

The submit action does not appear when the period has no open or rejected hours to submit, is already submitted or approved, or is blocked by an account rule.
