General settings define organization-wide display, date, currency, list, and terminology defaults.
Open General settings #
Browse to Admin System Preferences Settings General.
Notice: System administration access is required. Changes affect all users, so communicate label or date-format changes before saving.
Find account settings #
Open Admin, System, then the settings area. Tabs appear according to the account's enabled modules and your access. Common tabs include General, Timesheet, Expense, Approval, Security, and Integrations.
Configure company defaults #
Open General and review:
- Company logo, used on reports and invoices,
- organization timezone,
- currency,
- date format,
- default week start day,
- maximum number of items in lists before pagination,
- accounting ID display,
- and terminology.
Select Save after reviewing the complete page.
The logo accepts PNG, JPG, or GIF and has a displayed maximum size of 1 MB.
Configure terminology #
General settings can change the account's words for:
- Department
- Client
- Project
- Task
- Time Off
- Choose each preferred singular term.
- Review how those words will read in navigation and forms.
- Select Save.
The help center uses MindSalt's default terms. If your organization renamed one of them, use the matching label shown in your account.
Remove trial sample data #
A trial account can provide a sample-data cleanup action in General settings or Subscription. Follow Use and remove sample data before confirming the removal.
Warning: Removing sample data cannot be undone. Do not remove it if the preview includes production records or you are unsure where the data came from.
How changes affect users #
Timezone, date, currency, terminology, and list changes affect new page loads and reports. Ask users to refresh or sign in again if an old label remains in an existing browser session.
