Project categories provide a way to group projects for lists and reports.

This screen allows you to create new or modify existing Project Categories. A Project Category provides a method of categorizing projects (i.e. special project, printing project, web project, general, etc.).

Tip: New systems come pre-populated with common Project Categories.

Options and field descriptions #

Name – A name for the Project Category.

Accounting ID – This optional field simplifies the exporting of data to an accounting package. When supplied, the Accounting ID acts as a code or cross-reference to related data located within an external accounting package.

Use this as the default project category – Specifies whether or not the selected Project Category will be the default Project Category for new projects. Only one Project Category can be the default for data entry.

Creating a Project Category #

  1. Browse to Admin, select Projects, and then select Project Categories.
  2. Select New to create a new project category or select an existing project category from the list.
  3. Provide a unique name for the project category.
  4. Provide any additional data in the remaining optional fields.
  5. Select Save.

Active and archived records #

MindSalt uses Active and Archived. Archived records stay in your account but do not appear in active lists. To archive a record, open its three-dot menu and select Archive. When a record can be copied, Copy is in the same menu.
