Project categories, priorities, and status values are reusable lists that help administrators organize, filter, and report on projects without changing the project itself.

Notice: Project administration access is required. These classifications are different from a project's active or archived state.

Manage project categories #

Browse to Admin Jobs Job Categories.

Use categories to group projects by a business-defined classification.

  1. Open Admin, Projects, then Project Category.
  2. Create a value or open an existing one.
  3. Enter or update the name.
  4. Save.
  5. If the category includes a related-projects view, open it to see which projects use that category.

Manage project priorities #

Browse to Admin Jobs Job Priorities.

Use priorities to communicate the relative importance or urgency of projects.

  1. Open Admin, Projects, then Project Priority.
  2. Create or edit a value.
  3. Enter the name.
  4. Save.

Keep the list short enough that users can choose consistently.

Manage project status values #

Browse to Admin Jobs Job Status.

Use project status to describe the project's current business stage, such as planned, active work, on hold, or complete.

  1. Open Admin, Projects, then Project Status.
  2. Create or edit a value.
  3. Enter the name.
  4. Save.

Do not use a status value as a substitute for archiving a project that should no longer appear in normal entry lists.

Archive or restore a value #

Archive a category, priority, or status to remove it from new and edited projects. Existing projects keep the value for historical reporting. Restore it if project administrators need to select it again.

Before archiving, review the related projects and decide whether they should be reassigned.
