Clients organize related projects for time, expenses, reporting, budgets, and billing.
Open Clients #
Browse to Admin Clients.
Notice: Client administration access is required. Your account may use a customized word instead of client.
Create a client #
- Open Admin, then Clients.
- Select the new-client action.
- Enter Name.
- Enter Accounting ID, address, and Notes when needed.
- Complete other visible account fields.
- Select Save.
Use a neutral and unique name that employees can identify during time or expense entry.
Find and edit a client #
- Open Clients.
- Search by name or use the active/archived filter.
- Select the client.
- Update its information.
- Select Save.
Changing a client name updates how it appears in current lists and reports. Older records still belong to the same client.
Review client projects #
Open a client, then select its Projects area. Search and filter the related project list. Create or open a project from there when the action is available.
Archive, restore, or delete a client #
- Select Archive when users should stop choosing the client for new work.
- Include archived records in the list, open one, and select Restore to return it.
- Use Delete only when the action is available and the record should be permanently removed.
Warning: A client can be related to projects, time, expenses, rates, and reports. Prefer Archive for any client with business history.
Troubleshooting #
A client is missing during entry #
Confirm that the client is active and that the selected project belongs to it. Project assignment and date settings can also limit visibility.
Delete is unavailable #
Related records or your permission may prevent deletion. Archive the client instead.
