Employee types and status values are reusable classifications that help administrators organize employees and apply account-specific reporting or policy rules.

Notice: These classifications do not replace the employee's active login, archived state, department, or security roles.

Status values can describe an employee's working relationship or administrative state when the organization needs more detail than active or archived. Choose names that have one clear meaning and can be used consistently in reports.

  1. Open Admin, Employees, then Employee Status.
  2. Create a value or open an existing one.
  3. Enter the name.
  4. Select Save.

Use clear names that administrators will apply consistently. Archive a value to remove it from new and edited employee profiles.

Employee types group people by a reusable business classification. An organization might use types such as Full-time, Part-time, Contractor, or Intern when those categories support reporting or account rules.

  1. Open Admin, Employees, then Employee Types.
  2. Create a type or open an existing one.
  3. Enter the name and any available settings.
  4. Select Save.

Assign a type or status #

  1. Open the employee.
  2. Open the profile or employment section that contains Employee Type and Employee Status.
  3. Choose the employee type and status.
  4. Select Save.

Example classifications #

A company could assign Contractor as an employee type and Active engagement as an employee status. The type describes the person's relationship to the company, while the status describes the current state of that relationship. These labels supplement—not replace—the employee's login access, archived state, department, and security roles.

Archive or restore a classification #

Archive an unused value to remove it from selection lists without changing existing employee records. Review the employees using the value before archiving it. Restore the value if administrators need to select it again.
